Their Normal

Some days Ali and I just sit back and marvel at how vastly different our kids’ lives are from our own growing up. Not in a judgmental way, but in a genuinely amazed way—amazed that we’re able to live this life that we lead. The simple fact that our kids can step out the door and land in beach sand is pretty awesome. So while I had the exact same dump truck when I was Lowe’s age, mine was most definitely never full of Pacific Ocean, and I’m astonished that after twelve-plus years on the ocean, and on the road, we can still find ourselves in this place.

Then of course there are the things that are the same, and will always be the same, for all kids, regardless of location.

  1. OMG, you are gonna be inundated with complements for that sailboat in the distant shining sea! It would look great framed and hung on my wall!

  2. Love it! Will and I have the same feelings. Our kids are lives are so different than our childhoods, yet similar in many ways. Hope all is well with you guys. Besos.
Hey, I will be in Tulum next month for five days. Will you be in the area?

  3. Lowe on the board with socks of sand on his feet. Too sweet. What a way to grow up………… Absolutely priceless.

  4. Just checking up on you guys. After eight years…. We’re also back in Mazatlan. We just missed hooking up with you back then. How about a taco?

  5. something about kids that age and that beach. i have a million photos of my youngest (now in 2do of secundaria) at around 3 or 4 on that beach, with bodyboards, etc. mostly with horses in the camping area. 🙂
