Aw Christ

Went out to the boat today for a quick look around. She’s still floating. Later we went to the playground where Ouest made friends with a big-boned six-year-old girl. The girl kept picking Ouest up in a bear hug and spinning her around. I kept an eye on them because normally this would have upset Ouest, but this time she was the one trying to get the girl to do it over and over again.

After about ten minutes of playing together the girl got called away by her parents. Ouest just sort of stood there for a minute so I went over to make sure she was okay. In a disappointed voice she asked, “Grande girl?”

I wish this was a more common scene. But as it is right now Lowe is totally in love with his sister. He sees her and he immediately heads for her. He tries to kiss her all the time. He is always reaching out to touch her. Ouest on the other hand doesn’t seem the least bit interested in Lowe. Every once in a while she’ll give him a smile and maybe allow a brief touch, but more often his gentle touch is followed by a painful yell, “Ouch Lowe!” I know time will solve this issue, but for now watching how much he loves her makes us go, “Awwwww.” While watching Ouest’s reaction to it makes us go, “Aw christ.”

  1. I love how the uncommented shots of Mexican life get sneaked into your photo series on any given day. Your photography just gets better all the time!
