It was starting to feel as if the refrigeration would never be fixed. Two months that took, but today it was finally wrapped up. It turned out that the new compressor was slightly different than the old one so that we needed to fabricate a part for it. Then when we thought we were on the homestretch we went to install the new RFD and found that the hose connections for that were different than the original as well and required another part be fabricated. All in all I think the refrigeration guy probably spent close to twenty hours on this job, going back and forth to his home to make parts, struggling to find leaks, and generally stumbling his way through the entire thing. At the end of the day he presented me the bill with a total of 3.75 hours on it. This whole thing made me pine for the old days when we sailed around the world with just a twelve-volt cooler that never failed on us once.

This morning I went to remove the shaft coupler. No big surprise that the second bolt I went to remove snapped right in half. So that simple little job just got a little more complicated. I’ll have to drill it out this weekend before the diver arrives on Monday. He was supposed to show up today but the water was so nasty that he wasn’t going in. Nice place this Paradise.

Things have reached a boiling point regarding Lowe’s sleeping. Ali has taken extreme measures and even moved him into a crib, hoping against hope that that will change something. Granted we both know that it really just comes down to his teething. Two teeth are poking through right now and another is just a day or two away. That can’t feel good.
