We went downtown today to wander around a bit and grab lunch. This is the first time we’ve seen the completed malecon and it’s really amazing how much it changes the face of Centro Puerto Vallarta. The waterfront road that used to be the main thoroughfare is now a peaceful pedestrian road. Peaceful, aside from the touts who are at their most obnoxious along this route. Overall though it is a nice improvement and will give Ouest lots of space to ride her bike this summer. Both Ali and I felt nostalgic for downtown PV living this afternoon. We really like this town and are both eager to spend some time down there again this summer.

We ended up at the plaza with the fountains and it wasn’t long before Ouest was soaked through. Nothing better than watching the joy in a child’s face over something so simple as playing in the water on a hot day.
