Dumb Question

As many of you already know, I’ve been working on a new book in collaboration with a good friend of mine the past few months.

Over the years, and especially as the years have worn on, the most frequently asked question Ali and I get is some variation of, “How do you fund your lifestyle?” Well as much as I enjoy stating my occupation as Author on my income tax returns, the truth of the matter is that I earn the bulk of my money from trading.

So the book I’ve been working on sets out to answer the question of how I do it. From start to finish. From lifestyle choices, to pursuing passions and dreams, to financing those dreams, to understanding the markets, and finally to trading. The book’s focus is on taking a person with the dream of living a different life, be it sailing, RVing, living as an expat somewhere, or even just staying home without going to a job every day, and showing that person how to trade stocks. We’ve tried to make it simple enough for those without any experience to learn and feel comfortable making that first trade while still offering something for those with more of a trading background.

The book is largely written at this point, but we are trying to make sure we haven’t missed anything. Some basic point. I’ve always been a trader so sometimes it’s hard for me to step back and remember what it was like before this was all second nature.

So anyway, what I’m asking is if you’ve got any specific questions related to stocks, to trading, to investing, or to finance in general. What could we answer for you? (Sorry, no stock tips! Maybe later.)

I’ll be keeping these confidential and am hoping that will encourage those who feel their question might be stupid to go ahead and ask it anyway. There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers, right. I’m actually looking for the “dumb” questions. Those are the ones I’m most likely to have overlooked.

Please shoot me an e-mail with your questions instead of posting to Facebook, as I’m trying to keep things somewhat organized.

And thanks for taking the time.
