Fancy in La Paz

Just sort of taking it easy around La Paz the past couple of days. The boat is washed, the water is full, the propane is filled up, a few loads of laundry are done, and we’re learning our way around this part of town.

We really like this marina. Marina de La Paz is a pretty small place with the nicest docks we’ve ever seen, including potted flowers in front of the boat. Makes us feel all fancy. When I say it’s a small place that is a big positive. It means showers, the little playground, the store, and the laundry, are all right there in front of us. Ali said she could stay here for the summer. We’re not, but we could.

We also figured out the buses. The other marina we stayed in here in La Paz was way out of town and buses didn’t bother going down there. Here we can finally get to the store without a stack of hundreds in our pocket.

The neighborhoods are fun to walk around. It’s a few blocks up to the center of town where there is plenty to see and do. We don’t need much so we just sit around, eat street food, and take pictures.

We went to a taco place today where the owner’s little girl was running around and pretty soon all the kids were playing. She was only about a month older than Lowe but was up and walking and for some reason Ouest spent the whole time there playing with her, sharing her toys, and helping her if she fell down. All we could do was scratch our heads. Why can’t she do any of that with Lowe? Maybe it’s the walking thing.
