Goodbye Friends

The other day we introduced Lowe to El Pinguino. This was a toy of Ouest’s that scared the crap out of her when she was first set in front of it. Here was Lowe’s reaction.

Tonight we visited friends who are leaving tomorrow for the big Pacific crossing with their two kids. I have to admit that it stirs some feelings in me. If Ali said let’s go too, I’d probably tell her I need one more week to get us ready. Honestly I’d go right now with this boat that isn’t really ready for it. It’s ready in the sense that it isn’t going to sink, which is about all you need. I just love the adventure of it all. And I do miss that a lot. It isn’t so much about the dream of what the new landfalls are like any more because we’ve had so many of those experiences, but now I just long for that thrill of doing it, of casting off the lines and knowing that it’s just us and the ocean, mano y mano. Anyway, wishing nothing but the best of times and memories to our friends.
