Hangin’

Been taking a bit of a break around here this week. We’ve been doing a little bus work, taking a lot of neighborhood walks, and hanging out with friends quite a bit. I realized that every friend we have in Portland came to us through our website. Kind of weird, but at the same time probably not at all uncommon these days.

And a note for our non-Facebook using Portland friends out there, we’re having a little bus viewing beer swilling get-together at Hopworks on SE Powell. Sunday the 13th at 2:00. Because, like I said, this is how we’ve met all of our best friends for the first time. Now we’re looking to replace them with some new ones.

We hit up some sort of Frozen party at a dance studio. You can imagine how that went over. Poor snowman spent his whole day trying to get kids to stop pulling at his nose.

Ouest needed to get her passport renewed. This took place at the post office. The glacial pace of this simple process was excruciating. Ever deal with someone where you think, “This person could never work anywhere else but here.” This guy was one of those.

Thanks to Aunt Katy for the t-ball set. Kids are digging it. Both of them are gripping and ripping.

The sheer number of screw holes was amazing. This thing leaked whenever it rained, and I knew that there was no way I was going to be able to simply pull it and reseal it so we ordered up a new one.

One day I was picking some stuff up at Home Depot and was walking through the caulking aisle when the familiar site of a tube of 5200 caught my eye. Not because I needed it, but because in the past I always wondered why they didn’t sell these 3M caulks at Home Depot. Well, now apparently they do, and for just 40% of what West Marine charges—eleven bucks versus twenty-six. West Marine’s owners are pigs.

“Lowe, will you take my picture by my flowers? You need to push the big button.”

  1. Funny about the 5200. My son came home from Lowe’s with a tube of that yesterday. I asked him why he bought the expensive 5200 stuff. He responded it was no that much. So I ask him where he got it and how much it was. I guess West Marine is not the place to get 5200 any more.

  2. It would be worth getting that Travco just to have the extra wheels — IF its on the 6 bolts split rims. I believe those wheels to be super rare.

  3. Love the look of intensity on Ouest’s face when she has the bat on her shoulder and her hand on her hip. That ball doesn’t stand a chance. Neither do you for that matter…

  4. Your an amazing photographer! That picture of quest
with the baseball bat is some of the best child photography
i have ever seen, the look on her face is truly priceless and
you have managed to capture it perfectly, well done. Cheers.

  5. Use caution with 5200 Pat, it is an excellent ADHEASIVE but never use it on anything you might have to take apart someday. 4200 is equally good as a sealant but can be remove without damaging the surfaces. Don’t ask me how I know this.

  6. “Don’t ask me how I know this” Does that me you don’t recall or you don’t want to recall??? 😛
