One of the best reasons to raise kids on a boat is not having television. Ouest loves her books, but Lowe may be even more into them than her. Any time of the day or night, no matter what he is doing, if we ask, “Lowe, do you want to read a book?” he will drop everything, walk over to us, and plop right down in our lap. It pleases me no end.

It’s really nice to see families with kids who are not influenced by the media. That is wonderful. My son (7) gets ready for bed extra early so we can read *in bed* – such a treat.

We have been TV free for 8 years and have never regretted it.
Probably one of the worst mistakes we made as new parents was the TV… now there is no getting rid of the thing. And the cost of it both in dollars and lost time… ouch.
Ugg. The idea of having the kids sitting around staring at advertising for forty minutes of every hour kills me.
