Big sale going on at Amazon for Kindle right now. If you haven’t read Live on the Margin yet… Why? You might just be new here and not know about what a great book it is (according to reviews, not just me). Anyway, this is your chance to pick up the Kindle version for just $1.99. If you have read it already, consider sending a couple copies to friends. We all have friends that could use a little primer on the markets as well as a kickstart to their lives. And hey, please leave a review when you’re done with it too.

Lastly, thanks for all of your support.

For some reason yesterday was Lowe’s day in front of the camera. Random Lowe facts: he can eat 100 pistachios at a sitting, and he calls cars “No-no.” We’ve no idea why. He also calls Ouest, “Da.” Again, we’ve no idea why. Today we were talking about Ouest’s name and he suddenly blurted it out perfectly. We tried to get him to say it again and of course he wouldn’t. “Mama, Papa, Da, Me.”

We’ve been in Moab for a couple of days and are really enjoying it. And that’s before even getting out to the National Parks. The town has that Colorado ski town vibe to it. A little bit touristy, a little bit funky, and a little bit carefree—all set against a beautiful backdrop.

Ali’s parents caught up to us today. They drove out from Minnesota to hang out and see the kids. For the past two weeks Ouest and Lowe have talked of nothing else. It’s always fun for us to watch the kids slip right into their comfort zone with the grandparents. It doesn’t matter how long they’ve been apart, to them it always seems like yesterday—or at least they act as if it was.

Look what they brought with them. An awning arm. We’re back in the shade, baby.

    1. The awning isn’t new, in fact it’s from 1979. Only the one arm is new. And no, we most certainly do not need either of those things. 🙂

  1. Bought the book – so far very good read. I had hesitated because I HATED economics and figured it would be over my head. But so far so good!

  2. Bought the book fyi and looking forward to reading it!! LOVE moab and glad you guys are enjoying it! So much in Utah to see and do( both in the south and in the north). Have you guys got plans to visit lake powell while down that direction? If not HIGHLY recommend! One of the most amazing places.

  3. Here’s a really important question… are you finding any good beer in Utah? I bought the book a while back and recently started it, I like it. I am playing with a little bit of money so I’m hoping to get some insight. Gonna tell my wife that pretty soon I’ll be quitting my day job 😉

    1. Yeah, they’ve got a bunch of good beer here in UT. Getting them to serve it to us is the problem. What a bunch of wacko alcohol laws they have here.

  4. Bought the book, last week at $6 – still good value. Sadly I’m more toward the shoestring traveller end at the minute but I’m enjoying reading it!

Loving the blog – the template/theme is gorgeous – is it available for sale/download?

  5. Thanks for the tip on the book – finally, I will get to read it (piker that I am). I could certainly use some market insight, so really looking forward to the read.

I have certainly enjoyed your writing here at Bumfuzzle!

  6. Shelled or in the shell, 100 pistachio’s is a lot of work for a wee one. Does he pry his own ? Shows persistence and determination and tenacity, watch out Papa 🙂
PS Sam’s Club has the best deal on a 40 oz. bag, usually $13-$14.00 🙂

  7. and Milts drive in, as well as a great swimming hole on powerhouse road. Park and walk down the trail just past the cement building, then go down to the creek there. It is a really awesome swimming spot for you and the kids.

  8. I feel complelled to advise you of this little town of Telluride, Colorado, because it is so scenic and charming you’ll have to return many times, as we have. About 22 mi. south of Moab along Hwy. 191 there is a La Sal Junction, Hwy. 46 that goes east about 150 mi. to Telluride. Instead of a desert oasis, as is Moab, Telluride is a an Alpine retreat that is unbelievable. It is funky, friendly, everything you like about Moab, but on steroids. The only caveat is that your vehicle may not be capable, as there is a lot of hills, and many twisties and you are operating at 10,000 ft. elev much of the time. But before you get to the real mountains, the Rte. 46 is the best sports car road in the whole country. Two years ago I drove our Corvette over this and smiled all the way to Telluride. If you can make it, there is a park at the top of the main street where you can park RVs and there is room along the river on the highway side of the park for a rig your size. The city has a gondola lift that is free and a wonderful ride the kids would like from which the views are magnificent. In the summer there are music festivals, one year we went specifically to hear the chamber music festival. Stayed a week for that, travelled on and returned a few weeks later to enjoy some more. You can get 4×4 tours to the back country for a day or an overnight to Silverton. Anyway there is much to see in that area. This may be a day trip while/with your in-laws while they are still there. I was non-plus-ed when I realized you had missed Monument Valley. But you can’t see it all. Don’t know if you still have an old oil bath air filter on that engine. If so, you can get at Napa a modern paper filter that will fit inside the old assembly and will be much more efficient if your engine is starving for air. I had two old ’41 Cadillacs and a Packard that I converted to this and it worked a miracle. Buenos viajes,

    Max

    1. Thanks, Max, for the recommendation. You’re right though, we can’t see it all. We’ve joked that it would take us at least three lifetimes just to see every place that has been recommended to us since just the RV trip began. Monument Valley has been there a long time and I’m 100% certain this won’t be our last pass through this part of the world. In fact, we’d still like to get out and visit you and Lucy one of these days. 🙂

  9. Thanks Pat and Ali and family
I read your blog and have enjoyed all your adventures, its like being there.
Just bought the book, my first purchase from Amazon books. If it works out, you can be sure I will donate to your Pay Pal account.
    Thanks.

  10. I bought the book and can’t put it down! I had no idea this book existed. Thanks for the good read. Very motivating to help me escape the rat race as a financial advisor and go on my Airstream rv adventure. Cheers!

  11. I’m with Kristy: econ and finance are things I have avoided like the plague. While I can’t yet speak as to your trading advice (I am still in the beginning of the book)you have voiced exactly my growing discontent with our culture/society/career expectations. I am going to get a copy for my parents so they will better understand my next steps in life. While I lack current finances to get into trading, you have definitely motivated me to go farther off the beaten path developing my own NADPI. Who knows, maybe it’ll lead to a little stash I can use to try out your trading advice!

    1. Great Meral. Even if you don’t have the funds today it’s important to remember that your financial situation will change with time. Learning a bit more about the markets and how they work certainly can’t hurt.

  12. I already own the book and found it outstanding.
Is the weather in Moab as wild as it looks? Highs in the 90’s and lows in the 50,s in the same day?

  13. With a title like that my heart stopped thinking that you guys were ready to leave the Blue Bomb behind… Thank goodness I was wrong.

    Great book by the way.

  14. Hy,

since you are in Moab a nice walk with kids is Negro Bill canyon trail just outside Moab.
Also don’t miss lake powell at sunset, Moki Dogway, Goblin state park and the slot canyon trail behind.dinosaur route is fun.
amasing views in Zion , Bryce canyon, Pink sand dunes.
Colorado in the autumn for the colors, trails and hot springs, kids love those.
