Well nobody, except maybe Ali, is anywhere close to a hundred percent around here. So we’ve tried to take it easy the past couple days. Yesterday the kids got checked out at the doctor. He seemed happy with the two of them and as of now they are done with their medications. Ouest was more than a little nervous going in to see him again I can assure you.

Today we walked down to pick up the kids’ Mexican passports. I have to say that it didn’t come as a huge surprise to walk in and see the lady sitting there with all our paperwork right in front of her and a “sooo sorry” look on her face.

Apparently the back of our Mexican visa was not copied. They didn’t catch that in their two hours of methodically going through every scrap of paperwork. But they sure found it after we left.

Also, it turns out, one of Ouest’s fingerprints didn’t pass muster either. Again, apparently this couldn’t be spotted at the time it happened.

So no Mexican passports despite the hours and hours of buses, taxis, and office visits. I walked out of there really ready for a break from bureaucracy. Pencil pushers drive me right up the freaking wall.

We fly out of here in three days and I’m really hoping that we can all recoup a bit more before then.

Oh, I didn’t mention that on top of food poisoning Lowe has also got a couple of monster molars coming in. Big purple throbbing gums with the teeth just under the surface. He is not a happy camper at the moment. One minute he’s in high spirits and the next he’s laying flat on the floor with his head on his arms while whimpering. Sad.
