Amusement

There is an old school style amusement park in the city, and who doesn’t love an amusement park. The kids had fun, and with an all-you-can-ride-pass for only seven bucks we weren’t complaining either. The only problem with the place is that the parking lot and surrounding roads were all closed—even to pedestrians— for construction. So despite getting off at the nearest Metro station we ended up walking two miles just to get to the entrance.

Our 1940s building wasn’t much to look at from the outside, but did the trick on the inside.

We spent our last morning in the city walking around the historic center again. On a Saturday morning the police outnumbered the rest of us.

I’m telling you, they are dead serious about their pastor in Mexico City.

Back in Teotihuacan for a couple of days. Since it is the weekend the car rental ladies were in the plaza grinning broadly when they saw us walk up.

Everyone was ready to be home again, in their own beds. Ouest didn’t even make it through our books tonight before her and Molly crashed.

  1. Cafe la Pagoda looks delicious.

We have a pastor here in Houston that might warrant that much security, but I’m pretty sure he has his own private Blackwater security team.

    1. The “pastor” Pat was referring to was in the photo below the text. Tacos al Pastor are the marinated meat on the rotating spigot of meat you see in the photo

  2. We have so many surfers and other outdoor athletes here sponsored by Red Bull and their hats are so common here that I at first thought that was one of their hats on Ouest. I was thinking, Really?? Then I came back to my senses. 😀

  3. I’ve just stumbled upon your blog of wanderlust-envy photos and words. I was wondering, as an United States New Englander, have any future plans for an east coast trip? You guys seem to have touched every corner of this beautiful world, yet you’re missing out on some serious east coast scenery!

    Safe Travels!

    1. We had planned an east coast foray last year, but at the last minute we went west again. Somehow the east coast doesn’t draw us in the way the west does. I think a big part of our decision came from looking at a road atlas and seeing nothing but a web of interstate highways. I’m sure we’ll make it out there someday, but it’s just not in the cards right now. Glad to have you following along.
