Moving Again—Punta Mita

Finally broke free today and headed back out to sea. There has been a lot of talk about all the whales, and they weren’t exaggerating. We had one surface right in front of us requiring a quick course change to cruise right alongside of him instead of over the top. He just sat there at the surface as we went by.

We have a bit of a routine going on during our passages lately. We usually leave right around Lowe’s nap time, so as soon as we are clear of obstacles he goes downstairs and falls immediately asleep. Ouest then assumes her position with her “Cake Books” right in front of the companionway where she can get some shade and wedge herself in.

Today was just a quick ninety minute hop over to Punta Mita. There are some strong-ish northerlies coming through the next couple of days so this is the perfect place to camp out. And when we got there we found some good friends that we hadn’t expected to see—like, ever again—so that was a pleasant surprise. We all just hung out on the beach complaining about the seventy degree weather. Well not complaining so much as shivering.

When we got back to the boat I was putting the dinghy up when I overheard Ouest telling Ali, “We had a nice day.” Awwww—that is what it’s all about.

  1. Always love seeing your adorable photos. Our friend Pitt, S/V Karma Seas is on his way to Punta Mita anchorage today. He does a fire show on the beach that is so much fun to watch. Just ask him to do it and please tell him Lisa and Neil say hello. Enjoy!
