Taste of La Cruz

I took the boat over to the fuel dock yesterday to fill her up before we get going again, and today it suddenly dawned on me that the boat wasn’t heeling. This boat heels dramatically to port on normal days. I know there is more weight on that side of the boat, but for the life of me I can’t think of a way to redistribute enough of it to make a difference. The food storage, tool storage, batteries, refrigerator, and kitchen are all on the port side. But when there is 125 gallons of diesel in the starboard tank, versus 40 in the port, we finally float flat.

Tonight was the Taste of La Cruz. Chefs flew in from all over the world to participate. Okay, not really, but some did come all the way from Bucerias, which is like a five peso ride away. The kids and I managed to scarf down a little food; Ali got none—she suffers for the children. The bands were good and there were plenty of kids around to keep everyone entertained. ‘Twas a fun evening.
