Port Maurelle

We returned to the Port Maurelle anchorage again. It has quickly become a favorite. A thin tan smile-shaped shoreline, mooring ball in shallower water, and nothing but calm protected water all around us.

Passing the Picton Castle, a sail training ship for anyone from 18-40 years old who wants to pay to work (and sail in some spectacular spots) for a few months at a crack.

Bumfuzzle at anchor. Also feels like it is for those that like to pay to work (and sail in some spectacular spots).

I’m really liking the new drone. The fact that the screen is part of the controller and I no longer have to hook up cords to a phone for a screen makes it so much easier to use. I can grab the drone and have it in the air in thirty seconds, so I no longer hem and haw over whether it’s worth it.

Seriously, the colors are nice from sea level, but insane from the bird’s eye.

Another trip to Swallow’s Cave.

Every time I turn around they look like they are carrying on a conversation underwater.

The kids spent some time hitting the 55′ mark on their freediving during this visit to the cave.

Beautiful calm night for a pic of a neighboring boat under the stars. We are but a lucky speck in this vast universe.

  1. You are all turning into mermen and mermaids. What fantastic exercise. This has to be great for your spines. Beautiful photos. Drone = super.

  2. Such a shame all the graffiti on the walls of the cave. Why people have to deface these beautiful places saddens me.

  3. 55′. That’s really good. Do they hyperventilate just before diving?

PS: what an amazing time you Guy have

Captain Daniel Moreland — world class sailor — really interesting person as well — I spent a lot of weeks sailing in the Tall Ship Tours with Picton Castle and Dan — if you get an opportunity take your children on board to meet the Captain.
Down the road a few years the Tall Ship Tours crew may be a career path they would excell in.
