On our way out to Cuilapan de Guerrero Lowe kept saying, “I don’t want to go to toopid ruins.”

Ali would reply, “Well, Mama does, and then we’ll go do something that you want to do.”

When we got there both kids tore off like they were at an amusement park. They ran, climbed, hid in dark stairways, and laughed the whole time.

Ali said to Lowe, “I thought you said you weren’t going to like this place.”

To which Lowe replied honestly, “You didn’t tell me it was going to be like this!

About five hundred years ago this monastery was built, and today it stands much the same. Best part about the place? It has a distinctly castle-like feel to it—kid imaginations can run wild.

  1. I second the great pics. I’ve been a loyal reader for a few years now and enjoy the photography as much as anything.

    1. Thanks, Kamin. We kick ourselves now for not taking up photography as a hobby back when we were sailing around the world. Back then we were lucky if we snapped one picture every couple of days with our little point and shoot camera.

  2. Wow! You guys are getting pretty far South. I was curious about the place, so I looked it up. Turns out you are now the latitude of Cairns, latitude 16 and change and nearing the border. Will they go over it on this run? Stay tuned!!
