Thankful

Honestly, I’m not even sure what this parade was for. It’s like a weekly occurrence.

Thanksgiving. Preparations start with dessert and work backwards from there.

Thanksgiving Day I didn’t know what to do with myself, so I took a look at the to-do list and picked one. Apparently Ali wasn’t all that impressed with the metal shavings falling onto the kitchen counter while she was cooking.

We can get a little festive now and then.

There are so many patios in this house.

Gettin’ there.

Rather than shoot it straight in his mouth, Lowe was politely spraying the whipped cream in his hands to eat it. Ali asked, “What does that stuff smell like?” Lowe, without giving it a second thought, lifted the handful up to his nose. Ali didn’t miss a beat and smacked his hand in one clean motion. The boy never saw it coming. That scene was immediately etched into the family lore. I’m thankful to have kids that laugh easy and enjoy life.

There is always something to see and do in this town if you make the effort. I was stoked to see the Banff Film Festival coming to town, sponsored by Lowe’s rock climbing gym and played in a lovely little theater in Centro. Favorite movie of the night was the father/daughter team sailing to Antarctica to ski/snowboard incredible runs terminating directly into the ocean. Epic adventures.

  1. Good to see that Ali is cooking. I remember when she did not know how to cook a “hot dog” or something like that on the catamaran on your first voyage. My life continues to be an adventure as I follow your blog. You and your family have grown to be a wonderful unit. Thanks so much for your postings.

  2. That theater with it’s stone walls is something else! Great pics. You made a wise choice not to come back and settle in the States.
